The fourth annual Coronado Pet Parade and Chili Cook-Off, presented by the Coronado Real Estate Association and the City of Coronado, will be on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Promenade Park. The event will include a pet parade, chili cook-off contest and activities and entertainment for the kids.
You can enter your pet for the chance to be awarded in the categories of Most Handsome Male, Prettiest Female, Most Beautiful Rescue Pet, Best Costume, Most Gorgeous Senior Pet, and Adopted from PAWS. Each entry is $10.
Residents will have the opportunity to enter their best recipes in the chili cook-off contest. A panel of local judges will select “The BEST Chili of the year AWARDS.”
Proceeds from the event will benefit PAWS of Coronado, a non-profit animal welfare organization. PAWS works with the Coronado Animal Care Facility to provide shelter and find homes for the orphaned cats and dogs of Coronado. These animals include those that have been surrendered by their humans, are stray or abandoned, or have been rescued from abuse or neglect.
Admission to the event is free. You can pick up a Del Coronado Realty collapsible pet bowl for your dog at the event. For more information, please visit the PAWS of Coronado event page.
